About me
I’m a Learning Experience Designer from Pittsburgh, PA.
I grew up in a small town on the edge of Lake Erie and was always a creative kid, winning poster contests at school and taking several days to build a simple image by filling in pixels on a screen with the first computers used in our high school. Yes, I knew life before the Internet and cell phones. I started working in Learning and Development in 2004 as a training specialist in Avery Creek, NC for Eaton Corporation. Eaton’s Avery Creek facility was small enough that as the only person in training, I was involved in all projects. I worked on everything from event planning to developing and introducing a web-based training course to our call center. Eventually, my involvement in all those projects led to me moving back to Pittsburgh as an eLearning specialist / instructional designer and it was then that I discovered my career. I design and develop learning experiences. I am now in a senior designer role, maintaining relationships with subject matter experts, mentoring junior members of the team, and developing effective partnerships with leaders, human resources, and learning professionals.
